The Elements
The Elements: An Oratorio in Praise of Meher Baba
The Elements portrays the drama of spiritual unfoldment through the personification of Earth, Air, Water and Fire, the basic constituents of life. Each element represents a pathway to God: Air, on wings of thought; Fire, through all-consuming love; Water, in feelings and emotion; Earth, through serving God’s beauty in all forms of life. Those who tread each pathway experience the dissolution of limited life and a final integration in the embrace of divine love. Highlights from the oratorio are performed by soloists, instrumentalists and the 80-voice chorus of Sufism Reoriented. Selections include “Earth,” “All These Flames Are One,” “Lord of Fire,” “To Follow You Is to Flow,” “Love Leaves No Trace.” Libretto included (4-tape set).
